What is Plantation Shutters?

- Measure window’s backspace. The backspace of a window ensures proper louver clearance and operation for your plantation shutters. Remember to take a look anything which may inhibit the louvers from opening all the way such as locks, opening cranks, window trim, or even the window itself.
- Measure the window diagonally each way. The difference between the diagonal measurements will tell you if your window is out of square. In general, less than 1/4 inch difference is considered normal, between 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch is considered out of square, and greater than 1/2 inch is considered greatly out of square.
