Rather than focusing on portable hand tools, Grizzly sander tools are cabinet or table top models that are built to do some sanding in record time. The company's belt sander plays the role of many types of sander, and their disc sander simulates the functions of a random orbit oscillator.
Called a knife belt sander, the Grizzly belt sander may be one of the most versatile sanders you can own. It has an auxiliary arbor which accepts buffing or flap wheels, or even sanding drums. The belt can be changed in seconds, and the belt arm is fully adjustable from a vertical to a horizontal position.The motor is a single phase 100 motor, capable of a full 1 horsepower of output. One of the drawbacks it that you will ned a place to store it, because the Grizzly knife belt sander is a complete table unit weighing 110 pounds in all.
Another powerful and versatile machine is the Grizzly disc sander. It combines the machine precision of an oscillating spindle sander with the planing power of a 12 inch disc. The spindle can accommodate 4 different spindle sizes for the widest range of uses. It has the same one horsepower motor as the knife belt sander, and is capable of putting out as much as 1725 revolutions per minute. For even more control, the sanding table can be tilted on plane of up to 45 degrees, and a cast iron table surface. Unit weight is approximately 180 pounds.
