Steps to make a cutting board:
1. Put on the safety glasses first.
2. Cut out sixteen strips of hardwood with the help of a table saw. You can vary the measurement depending on your preferences.
3. Attach bar clamps after sticking all hardwood strips of equal size with each other.
4. Sand the top portion of the board-in-making after allowing the glue to set for about a day.
5. Depending on you requirement, cut the board with the help of a saw.
6. Create smooth edges with the help of a router if you like.
7. After allowing a reasonably thick coat of oil on the board, leave it for a few hours. Your cutting board will be ready in some time.
b) Wooden toy box
Making a wooden toy box to store small toys for your kids is also a simple woodworking plans that will give
you a good deal of practical skills. You can complete the plan in a very short period.
What you need:
i) Safety glasses, screws, handle for the toy box, saw, and measuring tape.
ii) Wood putty, hammer, sand paper, and plywood.
Steps to make a wooden toy box:
1. Put on safety glasses to avoid wood particles from entering your eyes.
2. Depending on the preferred length and breadth, mark the plywood with a measuring tape. You can make a square or rectangular box. The markings on plywood should be made accordingly.
3. Use the saw to cut the plywood along the markings.
4. Hold the front piece on top of the bottom piece and hammer a two-inch screw into it. You may need some additional help to get this done.
5. Now, place the back and side pieces to the bottom and attach them with the help of screws. Also remember to add some screws to attach the back and side pieces.
6. Next, you need to attach a handle on top of the box. Use wood putty to make holes and a sandpaper to smooth it.
7. You can create interesting designs on the wood to make it more attractive.
