The machine was very large in size and also was very expensive. Willis Haviland Carrier used the ammonia as coolant in this machine that makes it dangerous. After few years Willis Haviland Carrier made some changes and he replaced the ammonia with benign and add the central compressor in the machine, these changes not only reduced the size of the machine but also made these air conditioners more popular, and by the end of 1930, there were installed in many government buildings.
Window unit air conditioners were launched after the Second World War, they were highly demanded as in 1953 about 1,045,000 window units were sold. The air conditioning installation is less time consuming now days, as we have the supportive tools in these days unlike in 1953. The air conditioners are installed almost everywhere now days.
