Most people are not aware that arthritis and joint pain is one of the most disabling diseases. Arthritis currently affects millions of people all over the world. Arthritis and joint pain, what is it? Have you got it?
The disease arthritis is inflammation of the joints. There are many different sort of arthritis and the numbers of these seems to increase. Some of the better known types of arthritis include: Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Gout, just to mention the most common ones.
Osteoarthritis is caused from or the result of degenerative joint disease, or actually comes from wear and tear of the joints. On the other hand rheumatoid arthritis can be caused if the immune system becomes over active that will result in inflammation.
Gout has been around for many years and is one of the oldest forms of arthritis and is basically the result of too much uric acid deposits crystals in the joints leading to gout arthritis. Therefore arthritis and joint pain to all arthritis sufferers is often referred to by the name arthralgia.
It is not only the joints that can be attacked by arthritis, also the surrounding muscles, tissues and organs can be infected by arthritis. It is almost like a chain reaction, arthritis can be as far reaching as the liver, kidneys, lungs and heart.
In contrast rheumatoid and osteoarthritis do not move to internal organs, it mostly affects the knees, hips, hands and spine.
So having said a little about arthritis and joint pain, what can we do about it?
There are all sorts of suggestions and ideas. Some talk of injections others of creams and oils. One would think the cure has to come from within your body.
